Seems the lawyer wasn't playing nice. Clarke, a Biden appointee, found that Christensen “repeatedly lied to the Court and to opposing counsel in this litigation” about what was happening in a related case, a class-action lawsuit by Epstein victims against JPMorgan Chase. Clarke also found that Christensen directed the plaintiff, who remains anonymous, to destroy a social-media account that she used to post public messages about her experiences. And the judge found that the plaintiff “falsified sonogram images in her personal journals,” which she relied on to allege that Epstein and other men who allegedly abused her carried out what she called an “impregnation game” in which she was forced to either bear their children or undergo abortions.

Well for one thing they have suspended whole tranches of accounts based solely on the word of the government that asked them to without any sort of due process. For another if an account is on a black list they just shut down the account with no way to appeal or make a case. As if the dozens of companies that keep blackmail lists are the word of fucking god. Which they're not. I know because I am on one of them.

The Trump administration has long tried to wrap itself in Christianity, with Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, invoking warfare “in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ”. Trump even recently posted an AI image of himself as a Christ-like figure (later claiming he thought it was a doctor) and streamed himself reading the Bible. But in reality, faith leaders have been some of the loudest and most consistent voices organizing against the administration’s policies. Since the first time Trump was in office, Christian and Catholic groups have protested the militarization of ICE in American communities, provided physical shelter to migrants, hosted vigils and coordinated mutual aid. They are outraged by the administration waging war in the name of Christianity and are mobilizing “as an expression of their faith”, said Rev Dr Liz Theoharis, founder and executive director of the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights and Social Justice. “One of the things that was pretty stunning and pretty clear from the very beginning of this Trump administration is how hungry people are to hear faith voices and to see faith leaders pushing back against this heretical theology and the weaponization of faith,” said Theoharis. “People are demanding both – to push back against this horrible theology and to live their faith in the public square.”

There have been major protests by key members of the military like pilots against the planned judicial reforms before October 7th. That event unified the country like nothing else since the Yom-Kippur-War. Israel is loss averse because of their citizens army. That bleeds over in their tactics as well. This manifests for example in destruction of whole houses and roads instead of clearing explosive traps, mines, and IEDs one by one at a higher risk to soldiers. A large part of the secular left in Israel hates sending their children to defend fanatical settlers in the West Bank. The war against Hezbollah in 2006 was cut short because of losses and protests. Universal conscription isn’t a perfect solution, but it creates stronger bonds between military and the general population.
