Do we think they'll be less likely to throw luggage. Cause if yes, they have my full support.

Are humanoid robots ever the most effective form factor for any task, or is it just a case of them being seen as futuristic because that’s what they had in sci-fi films?

No, but they'd probably have to redesign the cargo containers for the new robots, and airplane safety standards probably also means a long certification process.
I can see the desire to use a general purpose humanoid robot for this. Tho in the long run, a redesign of the end to end system would likely be far better.
