I get that this is wrong but there cant be a double standard. If trump and his friends can time trades to coincide with war and other economic turmoil caused by the orange fascist what this guy did should be fair game.
The law must be equally applied to all or there is no law.

People have been betting on things for centuries, with the understanding that if you have actual knowledge or influence over the outcome, you're not allowed to take part.
Thus bookies are legal, but if you're a racer you can't bet on your own race. If you're a footballer you can't bet on your own game.
